Handmade Damascus Skinning Knife – Teardrop Damascus & California Redwood Handle

$299.99

Total Length: 6.3”

Blade Length: 2.25”

Grip Width: 0.5”

Compact, rugged, and built around an unusually detailed layered steel construction, this handmade skinning knife combines core Damascus, teardrop-pattern Damascus, and California redwood in a one-of-a-kind fixed blade.

The blade was produced by Iron Beak Forge using multiple Damascus constructions. At the center is a layered 1080 and 15N20 Damascus core, surrounded by a distinctive 1080 and 15N20 teardrop-pattern Damascus jacket.

The combination creates dramatic separation across the blade. Fine parallel layers sweep through the core while the outer jacket reveals larger, organic teardrop formations. The darker areas left surrounding the exposed pattern add even more contrast, allowing the layered construction to remain the visual focus of the blade.

Its compact skinner profile features a broad belly and sweeping cutting edge, creating a practical smaller fixed blade without sacrificing the surface area needed to showcase the Damascus.

The handle is crafted from California redwood, with natural figure and warm reddish-brown coloration complementing the darker steel. Rather than overloading the handle with decorative hardware, it is finished with two simple brass pins and a howling wolf mosaic pin.

The result is a knife that feels distinctly outdoors-oriented, with the wolf detail providing just enough personality without competing with the steel or redwood.

Each knife is individually fitted, shaped, and finished by hand.

A fitted Kydex sheath is included.

⚠️ Carbon Steel Care & Maintenance

This knife is made from high-carbon steel and requires routine care to prevent rust and corrosion. Carbon steel is not stainless steel and may naturally develop a patina over time.

Keep the blade clean, completely dry, and lightly oiled when not in use. Do not leave the knife wet, submerged in water, or exposed to prolonged moisture. After use, clean and thoroughly dry the blade before returning it to its sheath. Apply a thin coat of appropriate knife or mineral oil regularly, particularly before storage.

Rust, corrosion, staining, or patina that develops after delivery as a result of use, moisture exposure, storage conditions, or lack of maintenance is not considered a manufacturing defect and is not covered by our warranty.

Continued care and maintenance after delivery are the responsibility of the owner.
