Total Length: 6.25”
Blade Length: 2.5”
Grip Thickness: 0.6”
This one-of-a-kind fixed blade pairs intricate traditional woodworking with an exceptionally complex Damascus construction that will never be produced in exactly this pattern again.
The blade was forged by Adam DeVille of DeVille’s Damascus using what we're calling a “Chaos Checkered” Damascus pattern. At its core is a checkered pattern of 1080 and 15N20 steel, surrounded by a copper and nickel shim and finished with 1080 and 15N20 Damascus cladding.
The result is a blade with multiple distinct layers of pattern and contrast. The chaotic outer Damascus flows across the blade while portions of the geometric checkered core emerge beneath it, separated by the fine copper and nickel layer.
What makes this steel particularly special is its scarcity.
Adam DeVille does not reproduce identical Damascus billets. This billet yielded only four Salty Dog Lumber blades. Once those four knives are gone, this exact steel pattern is gone with them.
The handle carries that same emphasis on pattern and craftsmanship. Black-dyed black ash and figured black ash burl are individually cut and assembled using a segmented geometric inlay technique, with thin padauk veneer pinched between the contrasting woods to define the woven geometry.
Two understated solid brass pins frame a single decorative mosaic pin at the center. Keeping the hardware simple allows the Damascus and geometric woodwork to carry the design.
The finished knife includes a fitted Kydex sheath.

ONLY FOUR BLADES EXIST
This Damascus was forged as a one-of-a-kind billet by Adam DeVille of DeVille’s Damascus. Adam does not make two billets exactly alike, and this particular billet produced only four Salty Dog Lumber knife blades. Once all four are sold, this exact combination and pattern will not be available again.
This knife is made from high-carbon steel and requires routine care to prevent rust and corrosion. Carbon steel is not stainless steel and may naturally develop a patina over time.
Keep the blade clean, completely dry, and lightly oiled when not in use. Do not leave the knife wet, submerged in water, or exposed to prolonged moisture. After use, clean and thoroughly dry the blade before returning it to its sheath. Apply a thin coat of appropriate knife or mineral oil regularly, particularly before storage.
Rust, corrosion, staining, or patina that develops after delivery as a result of use, moisture exposure, storage conditions, or lack of maintenance is not considered a manufacturing defect and is not covered by our warranty.
Continued care and maintenance after delivery are the responsibility of the owner.
